These “extreme” cheerleading stunts should be banned for just this reason. Most cheerleaders aren’t professionally trained in acrobatics. When this girl landed on her head, the damage was done. Doctors and hospitals can’t always “put humpty together again” nor should people expect them to. This is a gratuitous payment to pay for her medical maintenance and a move to keep it away from a jury that would fail to maintain objectivity when they wheeled her into the courtroom. It’s a pathetic indictment of the human race when nobody accepts personal responsibility for assuming a risk and failing to identify the root cause of problems. In this case it was her and her team’s ineptitude to perform the trick successfully. While I sympathize with the girl and her family, she could have cheered with her feet on the ground and had a fulfilling life.

“It’s a pathetic indictment of the human race when nobody accepts personal responsibility for assuming a risk and failing to identify the root cause of problems.” Just need to read the rest of these articles to confirm it.
