HMMM! Lets see now … “Government officials said they were “aggressive” in pursuing Golden Eagle so as to limit the use of taxpayer funds for the cleanup.”

So, the claim is against an insolvent carrier, so CIGA will pick it up and the payments will come eventually from the CIGA surcharges on other insureds in the state of CA, who are likely taxpayers ….

How does this aggession by Government help the taxpayer????

Looks to me like the beneficiaries are the lawyers on this one!!!!

Golden Eagle is now owned by Liberty Mutual.

Stew is right. Liberty won’t pay for the claim against the insolvent carrier; they own going forward liabilities and assets of Golden Eagle. (i.e. the name.)
