“Californians may errantly believe that their homeowner and renters’ insurance cover earthquake damage. Past surveys by IINC revealed that far more Californians believed they had insurance for earthquake and flood damages than actually purchased the policies.”

Wow – How may Earthquakes have they had? How many people found out they did not have coverage?

Shame on the insurance agents in CA if people think the above is true.

I’m not worried. I know for sure my congressional representatives; Boxer, Feinstein, Lee, Pelosi, will make sure I get all my entitlements. Why should I pay out of pocket when the gov’t will take care of me?

If the government is going to bail everyone out anyway when there is widespread damage, shouldn’t I get reimbursed for the premiums I’ve been paying throughout the years as a responsible person carrying insurance?

I don’t have a single client that thinks their homeowner policy automatically covers earthquake.

Most choose not to buy EQ because it costs 2 to 3 times what their homeowners insurance costs.

Its expensive and it is assumed by many that the good old government will bail them out.
