This is exactly why I vote for hot nekkid female baristas.

I’m just looking out for the employees and their financial future.

The bad thing about California is they tell you exactly where and how to stand. The good thing about California is you always know exactly where and how you stand. It’s like the state is one big union.

Starbucks needed to check on the laws in that state before they started operating there.

I don’t think I should have to give my hard earned tips to my boss anyway. They make a higher salary, and those tips should go to the lower employees who actually make the coffee.

I disagree with this ruling if the shift supervisors are also serving patrons. If shift supervisors are not allowed to share the tips, then they should be allowed to keep the tips they earn and the non-supervisor staff can pool & share the rest of the tips. If that is not acceptable, then the shift supervisor should just supervise, and nost assist in serving patrons.

eh – i used to be a shift supervisor at SBUX (WAY back in the day). And, as I remember, we were not paid THAT much more than the baristas (maybe about 1-2 dollars per hour) and we did just as much work serving customers/making coffee/etc. We just had the extra responsibility of handling the deposits and telling others when to take breaks/etc. So – may SBUX is relying on tips to pay their supervisors less. But in reality, the Shift Supervisors SHOULD be doing just as much of the same work as the baristas.

A Nevada Superior Court judge ordered the Bunny Ranch to pay more than $50 million in “tip money” to “employees” because the “tip money” was used to pay “shift supervisors”, referred to in the jargon of that particular industry as “pimps.”

A call to the Bunny Ranch was returned by someone named “Sexy Lexy” who knew nothing about the case.

Here is a thought, don’t tip them! The coffee isn’t very good and too expensive anyway!

Hmm, but its OK for the Indian casinos to pool the tips of the cashiers and give portions to the supervisors and money room workers…

That’s because the Indian reservations are not part of the union. They are their own province. Only in America…but that’s a different post. If you do the work, then you should get your share of the tips. Just makes scense. Maybe Starbucks needs to pay their shift supervisor’s more and not allow them to serve customers.
By the way, in related news, I think the Bunny Ranch in NV was ordered to pay $1Billion. Come on, statistics show that tips for people with no clothes on are much higher than those with clothes.

Approx $30+ million to the lawyers. $700 to each of the Starbucks employees. The good news is they took it to those high paid Starbucks managers, so they will not get this in the future.

The Starbucks employees will be able to make rent this month. The manager will struggle some and the lawyer can afford his 3rd house on the beach.

Sweet Justice. Love our legal system.
