being gay would have no more or less effect on sexual abuse claims.

the moral of the story is that parents need to be more involved in all of their children’s activities. school, souts, sports, friends, etc.

Excuse me, but 40% of child molestation is homosexual, meaning that about 4% of the population is over-represented in that category by a factor of x10.

Which still leaves, according to the numbers you gave us, 60%, or a majority, of child molestation being committed by heterosexuals.

It’s not about the sexual orientation of the abuser. Homosexuality no more causes one to be a molester than does race, religion, national origin or income.

It’s much better to look at the true problem, molestation, than at worthless factors.

Of course the sheer numbers are more for straights LB, but who is MORE LIKELY to molest? Homos, by a factor of 10.

Al, I would like to see some more studies done – preferably conducted by non-religious bodies (universities or government entities would be best). Since the article references the “one study” conducted I can’t ask for more from that. And for an article from a religious organization it seemed to make a pretty darn good attempt at being fair; even succeeded in a great many aspects. I think any unfairness I could perceive in the article would come from a lack of scientific studies on which to base their writing and an inherent religious bias against homosexuality. But overall I can accept what the article says.

Even having just typed that I still think we would get more mileage in addressing the broader problem of molestation in general than in focusing on any one group that commits molestation. Because when you get right down to it, it’s not the orientation that causes the molestation, it’s something else.

Of course, we could attempt some deterrence by sterilizing or killing child molesters. That might cut down on the rate of occurance. Just a thought.

Al – your ignorance and stupidity are blinding. Everything you said is completely wrong. Thank goodness there are smart and rational people like SP and lastbat. Maybe you should educate yourself on these issues before spewing your b.s.

Saying I’m wrong doesn’t make it so. The FBI’s Uniform Crime Statistics bear me out: sodomists are 10 times more likely you molest children than heterosexuals. Prove me wrong.

You might have heard about the dozens of Roman Catholic priests (males) who molested thousands of boys (males). Ignoring the problem or purposefully misconstruing it makes you an enabler of these monsters: you are covering up for child molesters.

It is also known that over 45% of molestation is committed by a family member. So I guess we all should start with our OWN family closet before we start pointing fingers at anyone else’s.

I, personally, don’t believe ANY study performed by any group that has religious connections, financial connections, or political connections to the results. Good old Rush determined that the teletubbies were homosexual and that they would turn our 3 year olds into ‘fags’ if we let them. Yeah, let’s spread THAT kind of faith. Sounds like he had a hand in that ‘study’.

On the 24th of December, 1997 CNN reported that Tinky Winky was gay.
“The Teletubbies also have a following among the gay community. Tinky Winky, who carts around a red handbag but speaks with a male voice, has become something of a gay icon.” CNN, 12/24/97
On April 17, 1998, the Village Voice praised the Teletubbies series for their gay Tinky Winky character.

On January 1, 1999, in its New Year’s IN/OUT list, The Washington Post anointed “Tinky Winky, the gay Teletubby,” as next year’s Ellen DeGeneres.

In 1997, when the BBC, which produces the show, wanted to fire the human who plays Tinky for dancing in the streets wearing only a balloon, gay groups protested. It has also been reported that some gay groups have “claimed Tinky Winky as their own”. (Washington Post, February 11, 1999, Page C01)

So when in February of 1999, Jerry Falwell (not Rush Limbaugh) mentioned in The National Liberty Journal that Tinky was gay, he was just repeating what leftists media sources and queer activists already knew.

Sorry to have informed your ignorance and ended your bliss.
