The DOI should spend tere time chasing Mercury Insurance, they always have AND still do charge higher rates if you didn’t have previous insurance!!!!!!!!!! GEICO does as well………DOI are you after these 2 companies as well???????

Jeff, you are an obvious moron. GEICO does not charge higher rates if you don’t have prior insurance and you can easily get a quote online to verify. Try actually knowing your facts prior to reminding us of how stupid one can be.

As a Mercury agent I can confirm that Mercury does NOT charge those without prior a higher rate. They did in the past, but have been unable to do so for at least several years. They SHOULD charge those without prior a higher rate as statistically they run a higher loss ratio than those with prior coverage, but CA law prevents them.
