There are a couple states out there that have no cap on economic damages but a fairly “low” cap on non-economic damages (I want to say Texas and California, but could be wrong). I feel sorry for people seriously injured by the medical field, but the simple fact is we can not afford this type of legislation. The result could be no healthcare, or at least none the average wage earner can afford. Take the quacks licenses away through much tougher regulation, but for gods sake keep the trial attorneys out of it!
