Why are these people being compensated? It’s the natural order of things for bearst to eat meat.

The majority of the attacks occur on public land, where the livestock owner is being subsidized by the good ‘ol American Taxpayer. They pay about $1.25 per animal per month to graze on public land, when the private market gets about $10 for the same thing. Then they have their hand out for compensation due to depredation. Gimme a break; welfare by another name.

Seems to me the bears were around that area long before cattle were. This makes about as much sense as the idiot back east trying to pay motorists for running into a deer. Call it collateral damage, sacraficial feeding or whatever, but it’s not the bears who are imposing on the situation.
