Allstate couldn’t buy good luck. They have pulled their homeowner’s program out of California and now have problems with excessive profits. Don’t be surprised if they pull their auto program unless the D.O.I. compromises with them. Deerbrook was another bad experience both for Allstate and its broker/agents and the bad news just keeps on comin’. Only Farmers has had a worse run of luck with their recent fines. Good Hands People. LOL

In answer to SP, not only are too many people Stupid, they’re also Lazy (S&L for short). And so we have laws in the end to protect the S&L from themselves, and the rest of us have to live with them.

The S&L would rather complain about an insurer’s price than actually DOING something about it within a free market. It doesn’t take that much effort to go elsewhere willing to offer the same benefits at a lower price, but I guess it is just too much for the S&L to handle.

I used the term ‘free market’. Rather, I should say what’s left of a free market, due to the S&L defaulting on their responsibility to exercise the market and create competition. The S&L handed over to government regulation what was once a truly free market. Again, the rest of us have to live with it.

    Have a nice day!

How about you stop buying their products if they’re so expensive? They don’t have a gun to your head, and you have a lot of other options available. Adam Smith is vomiting right now.

Duh, you beat me to the punch. I echo your thoughts exactly. Nobody is forcing people to buy their insurance from Allstate. Let the market forces work by themselves. We don’t need more gov’t regulations. If people are so stupid not to shop around, then they deserve to pay more as far as I am concerned. Why do we keep protecting the stupid people? Isn’t it about time we leave them to their own devices and let the chips fall where they may? Maybe this way they will not breed and produce another batch of idiots we have to deal with.

My friend works for Allsnake and she says she can save me a lot of money on my homeowner’s and auto – only problem is, I will need to get a lawyer if I have a claim, they are ridiculously bad when it comes to paying claims.

Unfortunately the stupid out number the not stupid. We always end up making rules to take care of the stupid.

Duh & Compman beat me to it. If you don’t like the price shop somewhere else. If I don’t like the price of the car I am buying, I will buy it somewhere else. If I don’t like the price of the groceries, I buy somewhere else. Why is insurance different?
