HISTORY
Comment:
January, however, a jury awarded $2.5 million in punitive damages to a Biloxi couple who sued State Farm Fire and Casualty Co. for denying their claim. Senter later reduced the award to $1 million, though he said State Farm had acted in a “grossly negligent way.”
There is something very wrong with the quote in this article:
“Meanwhile, the Insurance Information Institute said more than half of California’s 12.5 million homes face wildfire dangers that pose a financial loss potential well in excess of $100 billion.”
This guy is saying that HALF of all homes in California face wildfire dangers? 6 million homes? That’s simply not true.
Homes built at the urban/wildland interface face dangers. Most homes in California do NOT face wildfire dangers because they are not exposed to brush or forest hazards.
