I love the line, “We have to accept Santa Rosa is not a rich diocese.” That line alone proves they were just out for the money. I don’t agree with child abuse, but give me a break! That’s just as good as saying, “Boy I wish we’d been molested in LA, NY or the Vatican.” Crimeny!
Maybe some day the Church will adopt better screening techniques to keep homos out of the priesthood, if only for concerns related strictly to risk management and not Christianity. The Lord need not scamper about looking for ways to enforce His will: it will be done.
God must be laughing his holy a s s off about this debacle. People who claim to be Christian are crawling out of the woodwork in droves decades after alleged incidents to make some money. So much for forgiveness. Throwing money at these people isn’t the answer to the problem. And one more thing, if anybody thinks the Catholic Church is the only religion with these problems I have a bridge for sale. Other religions may just have the decency to keep their mouths shut instead of “mining” it for profit.

It’s the Catholic Priests that are in the press – I would have to admit that perverts come in any size, shape, style, etc… but I am so thankful that my family was not Catholic for the simple reasons that they think you can sin & confess & sin again & confess again & sin again & after all their hail Mary’s & crap they are still sick twisted bastards that are molesting children & until the higher ups come to terms with the problem & get the ones that are causing it our of a position that allows them to continue molesting children, they are all guilty as sin & should be punished accordingly!!!! One day they will too!

Preists are human too. Unfortunately some made HUGE mistakes and it was put in the news, because the news media needed a scandle. There are teachers & ministers of other religions doing the same thing. That don’t get nearly as much press as this got.

It’s the part of them being repeatedly involved that is just wrong – so if you can defend them because they are human are you willing to say the same for the drug head on the corner that steals to support his habit? He does it over & over & may or may not confess it but he is human too… So what’s your point about the priest being human & the bad press? If he is guilty he is guilty & needs to be removed from the Church! Start a new Church where pervs & such can go & seek redemption… that’s an idea – probably wont catch on because they have no one to prey on except each other…
The agreement was reached Aug. 27 after a daylong mediation session. It must be approved by a judge, who also will decide how to distribute the money among the LAWYERS, with any remaining money going to the alleged victims.

To the Catholic poster, what you fail to realize is that everyone who is not of your religion is relishing in these cases because of the blatant hypocrisy, lies and the organized behavior of the Church to keep all this hidden. It’s just a very un-catholic like thing to do.
