Normally hospitals will negotiate bills. Nothing compared to what they do with insurance companies, but 30% off is common.

I have a client who is going through same problem and I was wondering if any of you would give some advice. I know it’s obvious question, but I wanted to help him in anyway I can. He was involved in an auto accident and was transported to ER, but discharged same day after several check up procedure. The accident was his fault and fortunately, no other vehicles were involved. He had $5000 Med Pay on his auto policy, but not enough to cover all expenses. In addition to doctor’s fee, ambulance and paramedics charge, hospital was charging over $10,000, although, he had only bruises and didn’t have any cuts or require any surgical operation. My question is what are his options, otherthan, paying in full.
