“Follow the money trail.” I’m fascinated how these people come out of the woodwork after decades have passed, coincidentally when it becomes vogue and there’s a buck to be made. It’s obviously not just justice. Wonder how they’d feel if any awards were diverted to a fund to help priests prevent this type of thing. Money won’t heal any psych wounds, assuming there are any.

Well if the R.C. Church knew about these abuses and did nothing to prevent them… why would it make sense to set up a fund to help priests? These people should be run out of business because they can’t be trusted… If it is a true faith to follow–money should not matter to the church either.

I am sure that victims would rather have not been molested than have millions of dollars… But knowing that the people responsible for these crimes are going to be hard pressed to allow it to continue.

I also know that the cases in Boston helped my local church to expel many seminary students that were questionable in search of people who truly had a calling! Rather than accepting every applicant because there is a shortage of priests.

I was taught at American Martyrs School take I was guilty of sin if I even Knew that a sin was taking place and did nothing to stop it. Now, how does the church and the Cardinail feel about that teaching?
