    When the insurance lobby got rid of Personal Injury Protection (PIP) insurance in 2003, the lobby\’s primary argument was that the sunset of PIP would lower rates. It never happened. In fact, most rates increased in 2004. Unfortunately, it is impossible to believe anything the insurance lobby says about rate increases or decreases.
