what about the owner, sitting in the truck cab drinking beer , listening to country tunes , talking to the wife on the cell phone, doesn\’t he know what response man\’s best friend would do when a stranger pokes a head in…get real
Sad. But she was stupid to make an agressive move towards her friend. I know dogs better than to do that because I\’m aware of their natural defensive/protective instincts. She is now, I\’ll bet.
A pit bull in Louisiana mauled a boy for 20 minutes before neighbors could pull him off a week ago in Baton Rouge.
Maybe you should pay more attention to the details when passing judgment. I am saddened that you think giving her friend a hug is an aggressive move. Note also that she stated she did not know that the dog was there until she was bit. That may have changed her initial actions.
People don\’t get it. Dogs are not extensions of humans. Humans must first change their mindsets on how we perceive dogs. It is animal, then dog, then breed, then pet. Until we treat them as animals, and be their pack leaders, the dog will instinctly do what it knows. People need to be responsble for their dog\’s behavior, BEFORE it bites or misbehaves. It doesn\’t stop with obedience training. There is also the psychological training that continues for life. But it is the dog that will get the bad rap. By the way, I am a multi-dog owner!
Well, the dog could have been in the backseat if it is that type of truck. Sometimes people do things before they have a chance to get the whole picture. Reactions and actions sometimes happen before the brain can take all of the information in. I\’m not accusing, I\’m just saying there are ways she might not have seen the dog.
Are we forgetting she didn\’t press charges? And she didn\’t ask the dog be put to sleep? I am not sure what your point was \”A Little Perplexed\”. What if she had seen the dog? Would that have changed anything in this story? Maybe she had been around the dog many times before without incident. She didn\’t provoke the dog (as far as this article states) so I am not sure why you pointed out \”how could she not have seen a GREAT DANE?\” Would you mind clarifying? Thanks.

You are The Dog Whisperer!
Actually, the real dog whisperer now is the victim of the bite!
Sorry, I couldn\’t resist.
Wow, in oregon you can euthanize your grandma, grow dope, can\’t pump your own gas, and you aren\’t liable for your dog\’s vicious actions.
What a state.
Does anyone else think it\’s weird that she didn\’t see a GREAT DANE in her friend\’s truck?
Not accusing anyone of anything… I just think it\’s odd. That\’s all.
