Americans Increasingly Traveling Overseas for Cheaper Surgeries

    It may not be a big thing now but it is more than it was a year ago and the way things are going, it will only increase. I am personally looking into it for something that I need to have done that is excluded from my health insurance. Why not? They have not gone off the deep end by allowing attorneys to dictate everything they do, cannot do, etc.

    If you build it, they will come.

    Gee, going outside the US for surgery, medication, etc. because of over-regulation in this country. What a concept. How about if we go overseas for attorney representation? Would be cheaper, they could do as good or better there AND maybe the attorneys and politicians here would get the picture! …..nah

    I think we do want it to be a heavily regulated industry with universal standards of care and shared best-practices. It looks like the lawyers and insurance agents will be first on the pile to bring this industry into formation. I do wonder whether competition from outside the US for certain specialized procedures will drive down the cost of same here (if supply and demand have to reach equilibrium or whatever…)
