And what is done to defense Atty’s who lie to deny payments to injured workers and defense doctors who do everything in their power to stop injured workers from receiving nessesary treatment.

Obviously this idiot does not have any brain cells. 180 days in jail? What a joke, he should have done a minimum of 5 years.

I agree that the guy is an idiot, but something has to be said about the State fund that they didn\’t realize that it was the same guy. If they paid more attention to the claims that were filed instead of rubberstamping them, they might have figured out it was a fraudulent claim to begin with.

So what are you suggesting? This roofer is right and it\’s State Funds fault? Get real, this mental midget was pulling a scam and he should be punished for his felonious deeds. Praise the defense attorneys and claims examiners who uncovered this fraud and his fraudulent behavior.

SCIF like all the other claims offices in this state does the best they can with the resources they have. They pay and pay and pay….and occasionally some numb nuts hits the radar and gets caught. And, oh man, it feels good. Everyone, everyone agrees it feels good to catch a fraud. The problem is only the claims office is on the look-out for the fraudulent bastards. I\’ve yet to see a claimant or his/her attorney to turn a bum in. They will typically simply dismiss the claimant and substiture out of the case and wash the hands clean. Somehow it all falls on the insurance companies to police the bad guys, and thus be blamed for not doing enough. Is this justice?

I don\’t believe anyone said that the roofer was right, all I\’m saying is that if State Fund would actually look into the claims for more than 5 minutes before blindly paying out, they might be able to catch some more fraud before it reaches hundreds of thousands of dollars. There will always be crooked people out there, who will try to take advantage of the system, so who is going to be smarter than them? How about the largest insurer in the state? Anyone?
