Farmers Insurance. What a sad excuse for a company. \”Farmers gets you back to where you belong-in Court.\” I\’ve been with Farmers for 10 years and it just keeps getting worse and worse and worse.

I work in insurance and this is the type of situation that gives us good companies a bad name. They screwed up the homeowner mold issue so badly but it seems they did not learn their lesson even after causing so many problems for other companies and home owners. It makes you wonder if they just don\’t care what happens to their company.

It\’s nonsense like this that will cause the Feds to take over regulation from the states. And double shame on all but one of the lawyers. Obviously, their sense of justice is as obscene as their profits.

I work in Subrogation and have a great deal of experience with Farmers Insurance and other players in the industry. People, please understand that it is the business of the insurance company to deny claims! It is all about money folks…if you don\’t like it, change your insurance company and stop complaining like a bunch of old ladies!

While insurance is indeed a business it needs to understand when a person pays for a product, they need to deliver. It was never disputed that the insured was not at fault. Therefore, Farmers should have paid or at least settled without question then went after the driver at fault. As someone in Subrogation, you of all people should understand. It’s about money alright- how much we can keep-decline the claim then see how much fuss they make before we re-open it. I have heard as much from claims departments. No wonder we have the reputation of used cars salesmen. Complaining? Pray tell us how we would know the claims processes of a carrier without finding out first hand? Nifty thing is now Farmer’s has now publicly tipped their less than consumer friendly hand, and now will suffer in new business. Ah the mental midgets ride again.

Farmers is doing such a great job proving their incompetence, they\’ve deflected the bad pr that usually finds its way (deservedly) to Allstate. I\’m still amazed anybody carries insurance with Farmers; they treat their employees like crap (1st hand experience) and their insureds get top notch service (not) from their overworked staff.

Geez, pity the poor bar association that had to tell her to stop comming back because she took up too much of their time. How about the attorneys that take up EVERYONE else\’s time with all the shenanigans they play? Poor babies don\’t like it when the shoe is on the other foot, do they?

Farmers is a terrible company. I know first hand as I was an adjuster for them for 2 years. Their adjusters are horribly overworked and they spend more time trying to figure out how to deny a claim when they are supposed to be looking for coverage. When I worked there they had a sign in the liability department that said \”think comparative\” and there was great pressure to not pay 100% liability on anything. Sad excuse for an insurance company.

Why must everybody jump on the wagon and complain about the insurance companies? Insurance companies (all of them) are there for you 100% This old lady from Canada is obviously trying to beat the honest insurance company (Farmers) out of some extra cash-this is exactly why we all end-up paying more for our insurance people!

I too work in insurance…our company\’s philosophy is that we are in the business to PAY claims and more than that, that we try to ensure that we do not have any claimants bad-mouthing us. There is only one caveat, that we only pay losses for what we underwrite and that we do it fairly. This has given us a good reputation among the agents who represent us. If Farmers is in the business to deny claims, then I suspect that agents will be unwilling to continue to represent them and reduce their market share as a result. Bad press like this is a good indicator of a lack of customer focus. And none of that new advertising will be able to reverse the current decline. This shows a lack of strategic vision at Farmers… who knows where they\’ll be in 5-10 years. Paying claims of this nature cannot possibly hurt the financial performance of the company; instead of spending on expensive advertisement, the company ought to fund better training for its representatives. Where they put their money determines where they are going.
