I have no love for Garamendi, however I back him on this 100%. This is too much scum out there who make us all look bad. Garamendi has actually improved from his previous stint as commission where he though socialist policies rule. Now at least he is not a fool to beleive that anymore and he is understanding how the free enterprise works. Not bad for a 1960s hippie.

While agree it is a noble and must cause to fight these lowest forms of life who prey on people and sell them phone policies, I would have to disagree with you on Garamendi. His whole term has been nothing but a series of press releases and press conferences to put his name in the public eye since he wants to run for Lt Gov. He speaks out of both sides of his mouth at all times. If he were really sincere about stopping the crimes, then I would pat him on the back, but I don’t believe a word he says. Just more pandering for votes.

Funny, I am not too sure what you disagree with me about since you response had nothing to do with any point I made in my previous post. First of all, if you missed it, I said “I have no love for Garamendi.” Then I went on to say that he has improved from his last term in which he was a “socialist.” My take is that you were not in the insurance business during Garamendi’s first round of being an insurance commissioner about 7 years ago. Companies could not even get a rate increase back then, they had to pull out of markets back then. Now he is granting rate increases and thus, he is not as bad as he was back then. As far as what you say that he speaks from boths sides of his mouth, what in the hell do you expect, he is democrat, that is standard operationg procedures on how the party operates. Democrats are never sincere (and true for some GOP as well), so you should not expect it from him. If they were true to who they were, nobody will even vote for them. I would hope you would read before you respond so quickly as nothing you pointed out in your response was relivent to what I said initially.

You are right about one thing. I did not pay enough attention to your first post. I was around during Garamendi’s first term and looking back, you are correct. I guess I have just tried to put that out of my mind. While I think Garamendi has tried to relive some of his past glory days bashing Ins Companies, he isn’t getting the support he used to. Times are changing. Thanks for calling me on this one. Sometimes one needs to be put into their place. I can only hope that the next commissioner is better. As we have seen from Quakenbush and Garamendi, I don’t think we can do much worse. Maybe I should throw my hat in the ring.!

You are both wrong. Some people cant afford insurance, so this is all they can afford.

    Cal,

Go smoke another bowl. Why the hell would you even pay any money for a fake policy if you already don’t have money for a real policy? You might as well not buy the fake, as you will have the same amount of insurance, NONE. Also, if people shop around and find one guy who is 50% less than everyone else, they should realize maybe it isn’t as good as it seems.

    Compman,

Maybe you dont understand how insurance works. If people cant afford it, they will go with something less expensive like fake insurance. If you dont have a claim, its all the same anyway.

    Cal,

Once again, why would you spend money on something that is worthless? That’s kinda of like buying a 49r’s ticket on Monday for a game that was on the prior Sunday, but you buy it because it was half price the next day. It doesn’t make any sense to buy a fake insurance policy. It does no good unless mentally, it makes you feel better.
