BS so deep I have to wear waders, issuing cancel notices is no big expensive deal. Companies gleefully do it every day for non-payment of premium.

The companies just want to protect their uninsured book and revenues, removing uninsured drivers would kill the uninsured driver line and profits.

Some states already have manditory electronic DMV notification for lapsed of caneclled policies. DMV then mails reg. letter requesting the insured or uninsured registered owner provide name of insurance co. and policy number that must be verified by the insurance co. If not verified by ins. co. reg owner is fined and registration is suspended until proof of insurance is provided.
