Bluebook Int. Notes Pilot License Deal with Rio National Insurance Services

June 7, 2005

California-based Bluebook International Inc., a data and software services provider to the property and casualty insurance industry, has entered into a software pilot agreement with Colorado-based Rio National Insurance Services Inc.

Under the terms of the agreement, Rio National will pilot Bluebook’s B.E.S.T.Net and B.E.S.T.Central applications for a term of 90 days prior to negotiating a multi-year license agreement. Rio National will obtain access to this technology through Bluebook’s Internet Web portal via highly secure Web services.

“This agreement with Rio National is a significant statement for Bluebook’s interface technology and highly scaleable architecture as we can both enhance existing systems or replace them in their entirety,” said Brian Jones, executive vice president of Insurance Solutions for Bluebook International. “Rio National plans to augment its existing claims infrastructure with Bluebook’s products using Bluebook’s superior common interface platform built on Microsoft .Net, which we believe will greatly accelerate Rio National’s current infrastructure plans at a reduced cost and time.”

B.E.S.T.Net is Bluebook’s claims application that uses an expert rules engine to configure its client’s “Best Practices” and that can automate claims workflow. B.E.S.T.Net with B.E.S.T.Central was designed to significantly reduce the claims cycle time, costs of redundancy and unnecessary manual processes by centralizing communication and managing workflow through the claims process.

“We are excited to have this opportunity to evaluate several key modules of the Bluebook’s B.E.S.T.Net and B.E.S.T.Central claims system,” added Steve Kerbel, CEO of Rio National.
