Compman, you forgot Sheila “Zelda” Kuehl, author of a new universal, single-payor healthcare bill.

CA Joe – Are you really in the insurance business? Comp carriers have been ravaged over the last few years. Don’t you think it is time for them to finally get some rate relief and adequacy. They are for profit companies and we are for profit agencies. You are obviously not very astute of very st__id.

The way to make sure insurer’s pay attention is the pocket book. If this abuse continues, why not just revoke their ability to do business in this State? I think that would hurt them more than any legit claim file.

Since when is past claims history not a legitimate underwriting factor?

I can’t believe there were enough stupid people in California to elect this clown for a 2nd time. Wait a minute, it is a “blue” state. I rest my case.

Smart Guy, Where the heck have you been for the past 10 years? The problems started with deregulation & underfunded carriers low balling risk to get market share. You can point the finger at Garamendi for letting these shell companies continue to write policies. Then when the bankrupies started coming in Mr. Garamendi desides to destry State Fund, the only carrier that was picking up these policies. Thank God State Fund fought back. If you were helping your clients during this period, State Fund kept them in business. As for profit, if you operated an agency in CA you would know commissions were cut to 5.5% & some down to zero, by the commissioner, on State Fund. So now we have for profit carriers paying 5.5% commission and adding fees. Look it up, 2 CA carriers are showing 200 to 300% profit increases. Until guys like you and insurance carriers get it through your heads, we work for our clients, its in everyones best interest. Insurance Companies comtributing large sums to politicans for favorable treatment, is wrong. Might not be as astute or stupid as you, but I can tell you we retain 97% of our business clients, and make a fair profit. The day we have to operate on only profit, is the day I leave the insurance industry.

Loss history is always an important underwriting criterion, however, just see what happens with only on water damage loss.
