I know this is very old news, but I wanted to comment. Hazel was my grandfather’s cousin but raised like a sister to him. I was so sad when I read this because she had worked hard in her younger years, and I have a copy of a letter she had written where she mentions that she worked hard so that she would never be poor again. Her mother died when she was very young and she had to live with aunts and family so she was passed around a lot because times were hard for them all back then. Anyway I just wanted to pass this along, I was looking up family history and found this article. I didn’t know this had happed to her. Thanks so Much – Penny
