DriveCam Video Systems Captures Award

October 18, 2004

San Diego-based DriveCam Video Systems, a provider in knowledge-based systems to improve driving behavior, has won the 2004 High Tech Award from the San Diego Council of AeA, a high-tech trade association.

DriveCam won the top award in the category of Computers/Related Products for its leadership in creating feedback systems that lower operating costs for fleets by identifying and correcting risky driving behaviors. The winners were announced at the 11th annual AeA High Tech Awards luncheon on Oct. 13.

DriveCam’s knowledge-based feedback systems reportedly reduce the number and severity of collisions by as much as 70 percent, which reduces insurance premiums and lowers payouts for self-insurers. Safer driving also results in fewer vehicle repairs, reduced fuel consumption and lower maintenance costs. When a collision occurs, DriveCam recordings provide evidence to protect drivers from incorrect blame, lower insurance investigative expense and reduce settlement payments.

“This award reflects the accomplishments of our hard working engineering and product development team,” said Bruce Moeller, CEO of DriveCam Video Systems. “Their knowledge and dedication has made DriveCam an integral component of our customers’ safety programs.”
