What is going on in California is just the tip of the iceburg. Workers compensation providers across the country are being accused of the most deliberate violations of the rights of injured workers. What’s more, state OWCP offices are grossly lax to take action to enforce injured workers rights. This is because they have allowed the bull out of the shoot and they don’t want to rope it in.

The ugly reality is that this workers compensation crisis starts right in the Department of Labor. They have been grossly neglegent about protecting the rights of injured federal workers.

How can you lay down the law to private workers compensation insurers when the federal Office of Workers Compensation Programs (DOL-OWCP) violates federal law with impunity? Injured government workers have been losing homes and savings for years while their Congressional representatives pretend like nothing is wrong.

Eventially, workers compensation programs will be so badly undermined that they will be worthless.

The fact that the politicians continue to ignore injured workers testimony is proof that their hands are in the insurance companies wallets. The legislators are part of the problem with delay and deny of claims. AND yes if state and federal agencies deny and delay so can any other workers comp insurance company including HMOs.
