I am so happy other are finding out what I had already known to be true. Caliber Collision as far as this customer is concerned was the biggest rip off that I have ever done business with.

They even signed my work order as Class *** Clown as the employee who repaired my vehicle. Not just once but signed it again the same after inspection at the San Marcos California Caliber Collision Center in 2003-4.

Of course the work was not done right and I can’t believe they took me to small claims for the extra costs I had no idea were added.

I am very bitter about this company and I say good job to all who were apart of taking them down a few pegs.

    To Whom It May Concern:

RE: Claim # 1013375065 Steve Smith adjuster

On 12/22/08 my car was stolen from my driveway. The car was recovered (a week later) and was towed to Bailey’s, towed to Twenty-nine Palms, CA on 1/2/09.

The car was originally delivered to Caliber in Cathedral City, CA. I received (?revived) a call from Coachella Valley Collision (in Cathedral City) asking me to bring my Key to the Shop, as my car was on the way in for repair. When I arrived at Coachella Valley Collision, I was told my car was on the way, and the person (mechanic) said he would wait for the car, and come back after the holiday. We would then go over the damage. I called the day after the holiday, and was informed that my car had not arrived. I called Bailey’s and was told the car was at Caliber.

I then had my car brought to Coachella Valley where I brought my key to? Then Steve Smith called and said I could take the car to anyone I want. However, if the car goes to Caliber, I would get better service and a better guarantee, so we took the car back to Caliber.

At Steve’s suggestion, on 1/3 /09 (on 4/09??? the car was brought back to Caliber. I have had several conversations with Veronika Jimenez, and Erick Wells? who had promised the car on Friday, 1/9/09 with the understanding I could take the car, even though all of the parts don’t arrive on time, I would bring back the car for the remainder of the repair.

Needless to say, the car was not detailed, or the safely inspection had not been completed, I was informed as of 1/8/09. The estimate said time of repair was (4) days. This is the 9th day.

I was told by Steve Smith & Veronika, Erick Wells that the car would be ready on Friday l/16/09; however, if they did not get the parts, I would take the car back on Friday and the missing parts could be installed at a later date.

    Page 2

I was told the same thing every Friday since the car was delivered. On 1/15/09, I went to Caliber to see what’s going on and all I saw was that my car sitting there looking just as it did 9 days ago. I have been lied to about the parts, labor, and any other excuse. Caliber did not change any parts at the time I viewed the car on 1/15/09 a.m., and at that time, I told them to STOP working on my car and I want to take it out of here.

Caliber did not even take the car to Crystal Chrysler for a safety check after the 9 days, when I brought up the subject of a safety check. I was told by Steve Smith that a tech at the body shop drove the car and checked the fluids. He drove the car around, and said it was OK; however, they wanted to take the car on the freeway for further checks. (HOW DID THEY DO THIS WITHOUT GAS)

On my first trip to Caliber on 1/4/09, Veronika made it a point to say that the car was out of gas. When I picked the car up (1/19/09), it was still out of gas, so how could they have done what they said they would if it didn’t have gas in the car.

Never the less, my agreement with Steve Smith was and still is, to have a dealer who has the proper equipment, and licensed mechanics, who are trained in safety checks, and who do it on a daily basis.

I believe there is a difference between an auto body person and a dealer licensed mechanic. WHY HAVEN’T THEY DONE IT AND WHY ARE THEY TRYING TO TALK ME OUT OF IT ?????

When I told Eric, the adjuster Steve Smith, said he released the check, he said (that should speed up the process).

I said, do you mean this is the reason the car is not ready, he shrugged his shoulders? Now, after all the lies Caliber wants me to pay $250.00 to get my car out of the shop. I think Caliber started my car when I left the shop and asked all work to stop. I will bet if Farmers were paying for a rent a car, the car would be done last week (weeks ago).

If I do not get my car to a reliable shop tomorrow, I will get a Court order to do so. This is inappropriate behavior and is unacceptable.

I finally got my car back on 1/19/09:

    Page 3

    • The floor mats were wet and smelly
    • Rt passenger door won’t close
    • There were left over screws and bolts left in the car, and one small one under the seat cover
    • The RT passenger side door, and window, both worked fine until the night the car was stolen
    • Erick Wells said there was wood in my door, why didn’t they call me regarding this

BOTTOM LINE is I WANT TO RECOVER THE MONEY I SPENT ON TRANSPORATION, AS I DID NOT RENT A CAR. I BELIEVED what Erick Wells said about getting my car every week on three different Friday.

    I want my car

    • safety checked by a Jeep dealer
    • the right passenger door repaired
    • the window fixed as it was, before the car was stolen.
