Mitchell Teams with QUALCOMM to Showcase Wireless Data Solution

San Diego-based Mitchell International, Inc., a provider of information and workflow solutions to the automotive insurance claims industry, is teaming with QUALCOMM Incorporated, a provider of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, at CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment 2003 in Las Vegas to demonstrate Mitchell eClaim Manager over a high-speed, third generation (3G) CDMA2000 1xEV-DO network.

Mitchell eClaim Manager is a wireless workflow solution that streamlines the automotive collision claims process by enabling insurance carriers to access essential claim data anytime, anywhere. CDMA2000 1xEV-DO is a high-speed wireless wide area network (WAN) technology, commercially available today in the U.S. from Verizon Wireless and Monet Mobile Networks.

Mitchell customer Ohio Casualty Group (OCG) has deployed eClaim Manager nationwide to reap the benefits of increased adjuster productivity, faster response to customers, and reduced cycle times.

According to Kurt Krueger, VP, Claims Field Executive, Ohio Casualty Group, “The savings and competitive advantage we have experienced since deploying Mitchell’s eClaims Manager have more than paid for the implementation. For example, using Mitchell solutions, we have successfully reduced claims cycle times by 50 percent and significantly increased the productivity of our field appraisers. In addition, these process improvements have given rise to incidental cost savings (i.e. from rental car, towing and storage) in excess of three million dollars.”
