An Atlanta, Ga., children’s hospital is building a special isolation unit to treat children who might be infected by Ebola.
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta spokeswoman Patty Gregory stressed that the hospital does not have any patient with the Ebola virus.
Gregory on Wednesday confirmed to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the unit was being constructed. The newspaper reports that it’s at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, across the street from Emory University Hospital.
The Children’s Healthcare website states that it is creating the unit to provide care to children with possible or confirmed Ebola virus infections.
The system hasn’t said how soon it would be operational.
The newspaper said it asked several questions about the unit, and that Children’s Healthcare responded with a written statement that answered virtually none of them.
