Tennessee Cracks Down on Drunken Driving

The Tennessee Governor’s Highway Safety Office is kicking off its campaign to crack down on drunken driving.

The director of the Safety Office and other law enforcement will kick off the campaign at an event in Murfreesboro on Thursday.

Law enforcement in every state will be cracking down on drunken driving from Aug. 15 through Labor Day.

In 2013, Tennessee experienced 6,699 alcohol-related traffic crashes.

On average each year, more than 10,000 people die on the nation’s roads due to drunken driving.
