Workforce West Virginia has received a $242,000 federal grant to help pay for Superstorm Sandy cleanup.
The U.S. Department of Labor said Tuesday that the grant will be used to continue the temporary employment of workers to help with cleanup in Barbour, Preston, Tucker, Upshur and Webster counties.
Sandy dumped more than 2 feet of snow in the highest elevations, toppled trees and tore down power lines in 2012.
The governor’s office has said the storm destroyed 36 homes, caused major damage to 56 and minor damage to 120.
