November 4, 2013

The University of Georgia Traffic Injury Prevention Institute has been awarded a $640,000 grant to continue statewide education programs.

The university says the grant comes from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The institute’s education programs focus on child passenger safety, parent and teen driving safety and senior driver education.

The institute and the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety have partnered for nearly 30 years to design and deliver educational programs with the aim of improving driver and passenger safety.

The institute is an outreach initiative of UGA Extension and is part of the College of Family and Consumer Sciences.
