Kentucky Doctor Enters Guilty Plea in Pain Pill Case

June 10, 2013

A physician who practiced at pain clinics in Kentucky is facing up to 71 months in prison after pleading guilty to conspiring to dispense oxycodone pain pills that weren’t for a legitimate medical purpose.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports that Lea Ann Marlow will be sentenced in September.

Marlow saw patients mainly at Central Kentucky Bariatric and Pain Management in Georgetown four days a week and filled in at Grant County Wellness Clinic in Dry Ridge.

Court documents say the offenses with which she was charged occurred between April 2012 and July 2012.

Marlow entered the guilty plea recently in U.S. District Court.

The Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure revoked Marlow’s license in May, according to board documents.
