Kentucky Workers Evacuated After Correction Fluid Scare

May 21, 2012

Workers at a Xerox call center in Lexington, Ky., were evacuated for more than an hour on account of correction fluid.

The Lexington fire department’s hazardous materials crew was called to the business on Friday afternoon when someone found an envelope containing a white powdery substance.

Fire Major Ed Davis told the Lexington Herald-Leaderthat it turned out to be correction fluid – such as Wite-Out or Liquid Paper – that had dried on a document and fallen to the bottom of the envelope.

Dozens of workers were evacuated and waited in the parking lot until the mystery was solved.
