Jester, I’d suggest re-reading the article. No offense, sure PSI is important but this was an industrial tire with the actual Rim exploding, not the tire. It’s highly doubtful that the tire withstood such tremendous pressure that the PSI caused the failure. No way a tire withstands pressure but the Rim doesn’t. I would look to the Rim age and mfg before pointing the negligence finger at that poor fella.
Jester, your comment is rediculous and somewhat insensitive. Clearly, more was going on with this terrible tragedy other than over inflating a tire. That is not the only way a a tire can explode.

Attention must be paid to the psi when inflating any tire. Otherwise, they blow up. At age 50, this guy should have known better.
