Lawyer David Huffman is taking the theft of weapons and other items from a veterans museum personally.
Huffman’s law office in Parkersburg, W. Va., is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for the thefts from the Veterans Museum of the Mid-Ohio Valley.
Huffman tells the Parkersburg News and Sentinel that he is a veteran and he has donated some of his memorabilia to the museum. He also has supported it financially.
Police say about $10,000 worth of weapons, knives, uniforms, bayonets and other items were stolen from the museum Tuesday night.
Museum director Gary Farris says the weapons that were stolen are irreplaceable.
