My son was rear-ended by a driver that had no proof of insurance on him. After the first contact by phone, subsequent calls have not been returned. My insurance will cover damages to my sons truck but I still have to pay the deductible plus pay for a rental. In addition, he had a dr. visit and X-rays to determine he had bruised ribs. Alabama Dept. of Public Safety has a form to fill out wherby you claim your damages. Does the state go after him? What is the fine for no proof? What recourse do I have to recover my out-of-pocket expense. This is the first insurance claim on my coverage and have Allstates accident forgiveness. Hate to use that mulligan for this purpose. Appreciate any advise.

    Thanks,
    Gary
