Racketeering Added to South Carolina Camera Lawsuit

    “Strom said false statements are used on the tickets and letters to induce paying the fines, qualifying as racketeering under federal law.”

    Interestingly enough, none of them appear to be actually refuting the speeding charges.

    So what happens if I loan my car to someone and they speed? I assume the camera is sending the owner the ticket? That would suck trying to sort that out.

    These cameras are not about catching speeders or law enforcement. They are about revenue for these town. Same way speed traps have been.
