Kentucky Radio Show Host’s Family Sues Hospital Over Death

The family of a popular Louisville radio show host who died after a brief illness has filed a lawsuit against a hospital.

The lawsuit says that Norton Audubon Hospital was negligent in its care and treatment of 43-year-old Francene Cucinello, who died in January of a brain aneurysm. Cucinello had hosted the “Francene Show” on WHAS radio since October 2003. She often interviewed local, state and national politicians.

Norton Healthcare chief medical officer Steven T. Hester told The Courier-Journal that Cucinello received excellent and appropriate care at the hospital.

He called the death “tragic,” but said it “occurred despite the efforts at Norton Audubon Hospital, including those of the dedicated physicians and nurses who worked hard to save her life.”
