To avoid unreasonably large monetary settlements please refer to your owners manual and use as directed.

Do NOT apply, rinse and repeat!

Unbelievable. Corrupt judge + stupid sheeple jurors = clearly unjust award. Driver went off the road at over 80 mph? Where is Ford liable. Car and Driver proved years ago that one can bring an Explorer to a safe stop after a ruptured tire by braking-without even having hands on the steering wheel. As usual, I am outraged.

You and me both. But remember, this is Mississippi…..one of the top ten “trial hell holes”. I can only wonder the ethnicity of the judge, jury, and plaintiff. What do you think? Italian,Irish, Hungarian,Russian, Polish, French?

A “prospect” doesn’t = being a professional baseball player. It means he was being “considered”….along with others. He may or may not have made the cut. He didn’t have a contract. This is an un-conscionable verdict. Typical of “take care of our own” mentality of southern courts.

How can any sane person award anyone money for committing suicide! I think everyone involved in this verdict should be executed to prevent this insanity from spreading! This country have regressed to a point where honesty and integrity is punished and greed and illegal actions are highly rewarded! It must be stopped before it’s too late if it isn’t already!

I do like my Explorer XLT (2004) though they are prone to some serious issues. Several have had the lug bolts shear off, mine did as well. Thank goodness I got off the road before the tire came off. Ford won’t fix or admit fault.
The back hatch on most Explorers cracks when shutting the hatch, the heat/cool switch motor has plastic gears so they crack and you can’t switch from heat to A/C. (I lived in CO and now WY so the cold just cracks the parts)
These are some of the issues. The bolts shearing off no matter the mileage is insane to me. Scares the heck out of me to even drive it anymore, though I still owe more than it is worth, I may still trade it in just to feel safer and considering this is a big SUV with 4X4 I should already feel safe.

    I HAVE A 1998 WITH ALMOST 190,000 MILES.
IT’S DRIVEN EVERY DAY IN HEAVY, FAST TRAFFIC (I-95) AND I HAVE FELT SAVE FROM DAY 1 WITH IT. I GOT MY “FREE” TIRES IN 2001 WHEN I WAS NEEDING TO REPLACE THE ORIGINAL ONES ANYWAY. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE MY EXPLORER, WISH I COULD GET A NEW ON JUST LIKE IT.

    Ritchie,

You bring up race in many of your posts. Do you have some study indicating that minorities get larger settlements or hand out larger settlements than other ethnicities or are you just looking to see how many people will comment? Just curious.

I love that we live in a society that when we screw up…we simply blame someone else and get paid for it.
