The school board probably made the right economic decision. However, I doubt anything will change. Personally, I could care less about people’s sexual preference. However, challenging some of the time tested heterosexual mores isn’t going to be easy. Just because gays and lesbians WANT everyone else to accept them doesn’t mean everyone else is obligated to do so. Freedoms swing both ways. (no pun intended) Everyone should be free to accept or refuse to accept another’s belief’s and preferences. Heterosexuals should have the right to conduct events for heterosexuals which until recently, has been the natural order of things. If gays and lesbians want to exercise their rights to gather at an event, it shouldn’t be at the expense of hetersexuals compromising their beliefs and preferences. Let them have their own proms. Fact is, they won’t be well attended since a majority of the world still hasn’t accepted them as “normal”. No judgments here….just facts.

Are they going to compensate all the other kids who missed out on the prom?

When the government dictates to an individual, company, group, or school that they should violate the Law of God, the government has over stepped it’s bounds!
Acts 5:29 KJV, the Apostle Paul said- “…We ought to obey God rather than men.”

I would imagine that “Reader” is refering to “Leviticus 18:22” which states that homosexuality is an abomination. I would draw your attention to the fact that the government has been interfering for a lot longer than you think. The interference goes back to at least “Exodus 35:2 which clearly states that a person working on the Sabbath shall be put to death. The government disallowed this eons ago. There has been a lot more instances that we do not follow any more. Leviticus 11:10 states that eating shellfish is an abomination, Leviticus 11:6-8 states that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, don’t take part in football including watching…., and leviticus 19:27 expressly forbids cutting hair, including sideburns.
So much government interference with the bible, will it ever end?

Actually, now that the Lesbian has $35k, wouldn’t it be funny if the kids who couldn’t attend the prom sued her for $35k for getting the prom cancelled!

Since the rest of the students were deprived from having their prom because of the lesbian student lawsuit against the school. All the students should sue the lesbian and her attorney for cheating them of the their prom experience and demand a public apology from the school board. Both the school and the lesbian student caused a great disappointment to all the rest of the students.

    @ GB
    (You have it exactly backwards.)
If I was one that held to the strict Mosaic dietary law, it be wrong for the government to pass a law or force me to eat Pork, for instance. This is a case where the Government is trying to legislate morality of the local community.

There are proms that are set up by black students to cater specifically to black students. Outrage? Gee I must have missed it. As far as I am concerned break yourself off into teeny, tiny groups and see if anyone cares. Don’t want me at your black prom or your one legged, Serbian-Muslim bridge game? Knock yourself out.
