NOBODY needs 19.2 million dollars at age 62. No amount of money will reverse the error. So, why does our society use the dollar as the sole remedy for damages? Thank your friendly personal injury attornies for creating this feeding trough. Medical mistakes don’t always equal malpractice. Somebody better re-read the definition of “malpractice”.

I’m sure she and her husband will be more than willing to share their newfound wealth with those less fortunate than themselves.

Agree with both posts. We need to find a better way to deal with the “damages” issue in this country. I’m for compensating people financially WITHIN REASON, but I’m totally against unjust enrichment. A large portion of any verdict should go to prevent the problems, not be a lottery for one person and their attorney. NEVER trust a jury to do the right thing when it comes to awarding someone else’s money. Maybe people will come to their senses when doctors refuse to operate because they can’t afford this kind of nonsense.

The lawyers in OUR Congress and Senate keep getting their backs scratched.

This case was a doctor performing an unneeded procedure WITHOUT A CONSENT FORM. Perhaps the system should have a way to stop these doctors from practicing
