    Yes, free campaign ads – most of the stuff coming out of the DFS is about what a great job Alex Sink is doing. I like Sink, but this is kinda “Charlie Crist-ish” to me.

    I really don’t have a problem with it. Not rooting for Sink or anyone else, but if they didn’t announce these things publicly no one would ever know anything was being done. You never know, by publishing these stories other consumers might see it and realize they were affected by the same problems, and realize they have an avenue to get help.

    Agree, it does have a political spin but Alex Cink seems to be the only one in Tallahassee with any sense. The public needs to find out somehow. They certainly won’t seek it out on their own.

    Okay. Then why not provide a list of all the defunct homeowners insurers who should have never been licensed to write policies in the state to begin with? Shouldn’t she take some public responsibility for her department and the OIR failing to properly scrutinize the financial capabilities of new entrants on behalf of the people of Florida? Shouldn’t the assessments that come from these failures be netted against those recovered dollars being publicized?
