A lawsuit seeking $5 million has been filed in Tennessee in the death of a teenage highway construction worker.
A truck veered off Interstate 75 on Nov. 9, striking and killing two young contract employees who were tightening a recently installed cable safety barrier in Anderson County.
One of those killed was 19-year-old Jeffrey Brian Thompson II. The Knoxville News Sentinel reported a wrongful death lawsuit was filed in Clinton by Brasha Bowman, who identified herself as the mother of Thompson’s young daughter.
Thompson, of Rogersville, died at the scene as did 18-year-old Cheyenne Dakota Burke of Bulls Gap.
The lawsuit is against T and T Trucking of Winfield. It alleges company driver James R. Hatfield was negligent.
