About 10 percent of these cases, if not less, ever get discovered or made public. We all act like it is a complete tragedy when it occurs, but it happens every single day in every single school. And if you believe that these situations are isolated, then I have a bridge in New York that I’d like to sell you.

I wish I had teachers seducing me back when I was young :( All my teachers were 70yr old grannies and nuns.

    Hey there; “ex-teacher”
So did YOU drop-a-dime & call the authorities ?
These kids are children and no one wants teachers who are predators.
If you see or just suspect something,..-then YES, you HAVE to get involved

    ok:

“The lawsuit filed last week says the girl suffered “embarrassment, mental anguish and physical illness.” ”

embarrassment – um… suffering? i don’t think so! so anytime i get embarrassed for any reason, i can sue!

physical illness – did she get aids or any other std? she sure did not get pregnant.

i can see emotional distress or mental anguish. this would be like suing the church for the priests who did not behave. history of the teacher, would have been caught if they done a background check. so, i don’t think they would have hired her if there was an inkling. now, if they discovered this after the fact, they should have diclosed to the parents. they should have laid of the teacher while an investigation was doing.

So the “victim” had lesbian tendencies and apparently felt OK with it since she asked to court not to put her buddy in the slammer. It was the parents who were probably embarassed and “suffered” emotional distress, not their daughter. I’d bet it was the parents that filed suit on behalf of the daughter to cash in this matter. By the way, even background checks don’t reveal sexual preferences or tendencies unless there were prior complaints.

He’s uninformed, uneducated, and totally unreal. I count on him to ignore every insurance-related issue in favor of inflammatory nonsense articles (like this one), where he can present his illogical conclusions as though they’re facts. He brightens up my every day. :-)

I get Azekiel’s remarks. If the daughter was opposed to jail time, she must have had some feelings for the teacher. Why would she turn around and file a suit?

Look at the positive side. She was probably going to have a lesbo affair sooner or later anyway so what’s the big deal? At least she was getting it on with someone who has a college degree.
