Why should any government buyout somebodys damaged home? If these inbred idiots were too stupid, lazy, or cheap to buy insurance screw them. Responsible taxpayers are fed up with cleaning up the mess left by the irresponsible.

I may also question why anyone would expect the county to buy them out. But You Azekiel are the ignorant one. How dare you call these people stupid, lazy or inbred idiots! You obviously are a southern hater and Delta is Ready When You are!

The reason for his comments (assuming) is in comparison to those whom were affected by Katrina, etc. Individuals that lived within a flood zone, but yet did not have coverage. And, although I don’t agree with the adjectives, I do agree that there is a certain inherent responsibility that comes along with homeownership.

Further, the valid point is that when homeowners refuse to insure themselves against this type of loss, the taxpayer shouldn’t be hit with the financial burden of making it right.

The other arguement is when the loss was avoidable by workmanship, levy control, ie things that fall under municipal, county or state governance.

They are stupid, lazy and most do just want a handout. Now, being inbred, that is another question.

I am tired of my tax money going to these people time and time again. Flood Insurance is available to all.

The problem is that “As you put it” is the south. You never hear this type of whining coming from the middle portions of the US. The south is constantly looking for a Federal Handout when they get flooded, a hurricane hits or some other disaster. They want to sit in front of their widescreens and draw their subsidy that the rest of the taxpayers have to support.

Any one that would make these kind of comments is obviously stupid. Yes there is flood coverage available but 90% of the people hit in these floods were not in high risk zones….my question would be do you have flood insurance? Most people don’t insure what they don’t feel they will need.

You say that only the south sits and weights for hand outs….I have read of a few hands out in the mid-west when the tornados hit!! The Feds came in and passed out checks there as well.

I don’t agree that our government should buy out these homes either. But I also don’t think that these people are just waiting for hand outs…they have lost everything they had. I think you would also be looking for help any place you could find it.

Don’t judge unless you have walked a mile in their shoes.

“Self-Reliance”……….a concept the south never embraced. The cost of buying a flood policy dwarfs the risk of not having one. They made their decision to roll the dice and they lost. Tough luck.

With all the new development that has been going on in the suburbs. Many people did not even know they lived in a flood zone because the maps were out of date and with erosion of natural land barriers …..

It must be amazing to be a conservative because its obvious that nothing bad has ever happend to you …
