That’s pretty lucky. Who here wants to bet against that guy buying some flood insurance on his new house as well?

Let’s provide some context: he has a wife and three kids, his home and lord knows what else was heavily damaged in the flood, the ticket cost $20 (heard it on the news). Despite the happy ending, I now know why lotteries are referred to as a tax on the poor (and stupid).

Let’s see if I am following you. If you are married with three kids, and play the lottery, you are poor and stupid. That’s a pretty tough statement.

That’s why they call him Hammer.

    I think Hammer’s jealous!
Not only did the guy win the lotter but he has a wife and three children.

It is really “dumb” luck if he builds the new house on the same lot as the old one that flooded.

Advice to homeowner: Buy some highground first, then build your house.
