Another frivolous suit. Riding a horse is dangerous and this guy assumed the risk. Most jockeys walk the track before riding to detect problems.

Horse riding is an inherently dangerous activity, however, the jockeys don’t have much say in the condition of the track. They are paid to race, period. If they decide not to race or to even complain about track conditions they are usually fired and someone else is hired who will keep their mouth shut and do the job. To call this man a ‘scumbag’ is wrong, not to mention heartless. The owners of the track should be held liable for his injuries if the track was found to be unsafe. It is their responsibility to provide a safe racing environment. This man is paralyzed and will probably never walk again. He deserves to be compensated.
