it’s hard to believe anyone would tease him…I’m sure it was part of the school districts plan to allow bullying of students with different names.

Sounds like an exciting rally, with the family attorney fanning the flames of “hold someone responsible who can pay us some money”…bullying and teasing have been around forever; doesn’t make it right, but it’s hard to blame a school for something that pre-dates the Harding Admin.

The school had an anti-bullying policy in place but it isn’t a panacea for everthing. The kid’s parents were aware he was being bullied but “didn’t appreciate the scope” until he hung himself. Now the mother wants money from the school system. Why isn’t she suing the parents of the kids who antagonized her son? Our society has lost all perspective on social issues problems. You can’t expect everyone to prevent everything that goes on in life. Sad case, but why was this kid the only one in his school who went to such an extreme? Judging by the name, maybe he had a language barrier that contributed to the problem.

Absolutely agree with the comments here. Bullying is not a new phenomena. The unfortunate part is the add’l aspect of having the internet and the nasty rumors that can circulate through that medium. Back in my day I would think of ways to get back at the older kids who were a pain in the ***. Too many kids are “pussified” and not willing to stand up for themselves.
