Alabama’s Bibb County Rattled By Small Earthquake

The U.S. Geological Survey says a small earthquake with a 3.8 magnitude shook Bibb County.

The earthquake hit at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday, centered about 4 miles north of Centreville. The Geological Survey says the depth of the earthquake was about 3.1 miles.

A Bibb County sheriff’s dispatcher says several residents called the sheriff’s department about the earthquake, saying they heard “a rumble.”

It was not immediately clear if any damage occurred.
