This happens time after time; settlement for a reduced fine to get prompt abatement of the citations or to get rid of the ‘willful’ violation to avoid criminal negligence suits.

If nothing else happens, $33K per life is pretty cheap. I suspect this is only the beginning of their troubles, though.

This is probably the worst thing I can say, But the collapse that killed these 3 men on Good Friday was the worse days of our lives. I do not believe that anyone in this matter has even touched the emotional statue of this situation. I am the mother of Brandon Edward Rathbone and his life was so very precious to me as well as alot of people who he loved and loved him in return. My attorney will probably say this was wrong for me express my feelings. BUT due to the fact that a company can be so careless on lives I believe they need to pay…..so let me say this to you….. WHAT IF THIS WAS YOUR CHILD!!!!

I agree catherine. Brandon was a great friend of mine. We used to chat on the phone and whenever I had issues he was there for me. I got a tattoo in memory of him because he made that big of an impact. I’m so sorry for your loss and I hope god blesses you each and every day.
